Chief Operations Officer
James Woodrow, co-principal and founder of Preferred Public Relations (PPR), oversees the day-to-day and strategic operations for the company and its infrastructure.
Under Woodrow’s direction, PPR has grown to a top regional and overall national gaming, tour & travel and hospitality resort PR agency with key national, regional and industry contacts. The agency is adept at promoting every aspect of a resort and casino property from F&B, gaming operations and entertainment to meetings & conventions and spa amenities. PPR has also made great inroads into such industries as retail, law, commercial real estate and development, finance, conventions as well as corporate and governmental issues like homeland security. Woodrow oversees all clients specific to business and gaming PR and marketing. Woodrow is responsible for building relationships with local, national, international media and syndicates.
Woodrow develops strategic national campaigns and programs for the Agency’s business and gaming clients including Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower, Las Vegas Meetings by Harrah’s, several MGM Grand assets and amenities, M Resort (to be completed in 2009) and Cannery Casino Resorts as well as River Rock Casino in Sonoma and the newly-opened Buffalo Thunder Resort near Santa Fe. He has won numerous national awards in crisis communications, and is responsible for developing crisis planning for major clients and companies in and out of the Las Vegas market.
In 2003, Woodrow developed Big Island Commercial, LLC, a real estate development company in which he controls all operations.
Prior to Las Vegas, he worked in the hospitality and convention industry in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. in 1990, earned his Real Estate license from the State of Hawaii in 1987, and graduated from Punahou High School.
