As Vice President for Preferred Public Relations, Gina Yager develops and implements internal and external communications programs for the company, and oversees day-to-day operations and strategic decisions for the agency. Additionally, Yager conducts and oversees the development of public relations strategies while ensuring client goals are accomplished.
In her role, Yager directly oversees client and media efforts conducted by the PR team while guiding professional achievement and growth of the staff. Yager has been instrumental in developing and managing many key progressive programs for the company, including Preferred Public Relations’ media coverage monitoring and reporting system, media and contacts database, content and design of the company website and formal internship program. In addition, Yager directs and implements company and client-wide special events and handles recruiting, staffing and new employee training.
Yager joined Preferred Public Relations as an Account Executive in July of 2002. She was promoted to Senior Account Executive in 2004, Managing Director in 2005 and Vice President in 2013. In addition to her managerial role, Yager is responsible for strategic planning, handling client and media relations, conducting media outreach, coordinating radio and television interviews and promotions and planning and executing events for entertainment acts, casinos, restaurants and more.
Prior to Preferred Public Relations, Yager served as a publicist at Los Angeles-based PR agency Bender/Helper Impact from 2000-2002. At Bender/Helper Impact, Yager garnered public relations experience in the home video, consumer products and technology industries, representing such high profile clients as Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, MGM Home Entertainment, Pioneer Entertainment and Universal Studios.
Yager grew up in Southern California and began college at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She later transferred to San Diego State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing in 1999. Yager lives in Henderson with her husband and two children.
