A world-class judging panel consisting of Master Sommeliers, Winemakers, Journalists, Trade Experts, Wine Educators and Celebrity Restaurateurs will judge the wines from May 20-23 at Tropicana Las Vegas with a dedicated point system. Following the three-day tasting competition, private “tasting notes” for each entry will be provided to winemakers to share critics’ thoughts and directives. Judging process will be 100% double blind from the preliminary rounds (bronze, silver, gold) all the way to the final sweepstakes (best of show) process. All varietals – single species grapes and multiple species hybrid grapes are welcome to enter.
“We are pleased to announce our first Las Vegas Global Wine Awards taking place this year, and look forward to myriad of wine varietals represented from across the globe,” said Eddie Rivkin, CEO/Executive Director of Global Wine Awards. “Las Vegas is a magical city and one of the premiere travel designations known for its fine-dining restaurants and chefs, hospitality trade, and unique eateries; it’s a natural that we host this awards competition in Vegas where the Wine winners will be showcased alongside the industry’s most respected,” he said.
The 2018 Global Wine Awards is presented by Food & Beverage Magazine (10 million monthly readers); the medal winners will be announced and showcased in several issues of Food & Beverage Magazine starting June 2018.
“In addition to receiving decorative medals and honors/certification, our winners will be included in an extensive visibility program, including a detailed press distribution campaign to industry trades, and will also be showcased to a variety of distributors and industry experts in Las Vegas,” said Rivkin.
