LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival presents “Are We Alone? In Search of Intelligent Life in the Cosmos,” a speaker-discussion with Dr. Jill Tarter of the SETI Institute on Tuesday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m., inside the West Charleston Library – located at 6301 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146 (registration is required).
Join Dr. Jill Tarter for an open discussion on one of the biggest unknowns of mankind – the cosmos and intelligent life inside. Graduate of Cornell University and the University of California, Berkley, Tarter holds the Bernard M. Oliver Chair for SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) at the SETI Institute, and comes decorated with many acknowledgements and awards among the scientific community including the Lifetime Achievement Award from Women in Aerospace, two public service medals from NASA, Chabot Observatory’s Person of the Year (1997), the Silicon Valley Women of Influence Award (2010) and many more.
Frequently public speaking for science centers and museums, Tarter offers her commitment to science and education during this year’s Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival.
