Create A Change Now Hosts Second Annual
Edible Education Dinner on October 8
Dr. Tony Gumina to present ‘Weighing in on Our Future’
LAS VEGAS – Create A Change Now, a local charity teaching at-risk students to plant, grow and cook fresh, healthy meals in order to prevent childhood obesity, will host its second annual Edible Education Dinner at Panevino Ristorante on Saturday, October 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This year’s theme will be Weighing in on Our Future, a look inside the obesity epidemic. Proceeds from the dinner to benefit the organization’s mission and their Healthy School, Healthy Life program.
“Edible education is something that appeals to people of all ages. Being able to offer insight and knowledge to our community about healthy eating habits, and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle is so rewarding,” said Create A Change Now’s executive director Melissa Blynn.
Hosted by 98.5 KLUC’s Chet Buchanan, the four-course dinner event will also feature live entertainment from the Las Vegas Academy of The Arts Jazz Combo, and a guest presentation by Dr. Tony Gumina as he discusses the childhood obesity epidemic in America and explores our future if eating and lifestyle habits don’t improve.
Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction items including a trip to Napa, a Disneyland family-pack, health & wellness opportunities and an array of local hotel-casino stays.
Presenting sponsors for this year’s dinner include Land Rover Las Vegas, Brown and Brown Insurance and Southwest Gas.
Tickets to the Edible Education dinner start at $150 (plus taxes and applicable fees) and are available now at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2586594.
