Artist Jorg R. Dubin Gifts Legendary Musician Jeff Hamilton with Portrait at the Newport Beach Jazz Party on February 14


LAS VEGAS – March 10, 2016 – Iconic jazz drummer, Jeff Hamilton, received a special presentation during the 2016 Newport Beach Jazz Party on Sunday, February 14. A portrait was presented to Hamilton by acclaimed artist, Jorg R. Dubin. Known for his portraits, Dubin painted Hamilton playing the drums with his signature Remo drum set and Crescent Cymbals. The portrait was presented and displayed during the Newport Beach Jazz Party.

Throughout his career, Hamilton has been on nearly 200 recordings with artists such as Ray Brown, Natalie Cole, Barbara Streisand, Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney and many more. In 2006, the Los Angeles Jazz Society named Hamilton and his musical partner, John Clayton, “musicians of the year”. Hamilton is currently touring with his own trio, the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and Diana Krall.

Dubin’s art can be found in museums across the country including the Riverside Museum of Art, Museum of Art and History, Laguna Art Museum, Modern Museum of Art and more. In 2015, Dubin was a semi-finalist in the BP Portrait Competition in London, England. In addition to being an accomplished artist, designer and creative consultant, Dubin is also a talented drummer. Dubin plays rock, R&B, blues, Western swing and jazz.
