American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada Announces New Hire

Holly Welborn joins team as State Policy Director

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada (ACLUNV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Holly Welborn as the State Policy Director. Welborn will oversee policy work and lobbying at the legislature and represent the ACLUNV on boards and commissions across the state.

Welborn completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and worked on several local, state and national political campaigns. Welborn’s political and policy experience was further enhanced when she worked as a Legislative Aide to the Nevada Minority Leader during the 2007 legislative session. Most recently, Welborn worked for Bristlecone Family Resources addiction treatment agency. This experience fostered her deep sense of commitment to serving the addiction recovery and re-entry populations. During law school, Welborn won multiple academic awards for achievement in Constitutional Law. Welborn looks forward to putting her knowledge and combined experiences to work as Policy Director for ACLUNV.

“Holly brings a wealth of experience and passion to her new role as policy director at the ACLUNV. She knows the issues important to Nevadans and will work diligently to defend their liberties across the state,” said Tod Story, executive director.
